Overview

This 6-day safari is designed for travelers who want a short but action-packed Ugandan adventure. You will track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, encounter the Big 5 in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and trek endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A perfect blend of primates and classic savannah wildlife.

Tour Plan

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be received by your safari guide and transferred for briefing and overnight rest.

Depart Entebbe and drive westwards through tea plantations and crater lakes en route to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of East Africa. Evening at leisure.

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Watch them feed, groom, and swing through the forest. Later, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with views of the Rwenzori Mountains along the way.

Enjoy a morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park, spotting elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, lions, and possibly leopards. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

Head south through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.

A magical day! Trek into the rainforest of Bwindi to find a gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour observing them before returning for your journey back to Entebbe, marking the end of your safari.

The 6-Day Big 5, Chimpanzee & Gorilla Safari gives you the best of Uganda in just under a week — thrilling game drives, close encounters with chimpanzees, and a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek. It’s the ideal itinerary for travelers who want both primates and savannah wildlife without a long trip.
